Koala Books 2002 64p., pbk. $9.95 ISBN: 0 86461 424 1 | There are bullies down Grandpa's road and Harlie has to face them every day. he needs someone to talk to and that's when he finds out about Captain Purrfect. He's bold! He's brave! He's a cat! Captain Purrfect is a match for any kind of monster, but he says that only humans can deal with human bullies. Harlie has to learn to be brave. |
| When Harlie stays at Grandpas things happen. Harlie hears Moggs (Grandpas cat) talking & then Moggs saved Harlie from the Shadow Man. Thankfully Moggs doesnt have to try to save Harlie from anything else but the Gurgle. In return Moggs (or Captain Purrfect as he likes to be called!) wants food (Grandpas an excellent cook)! But Harlies got other problemsbullies! So how does he defeat them? The same way he defeats the Gurgle. Thats how!! This is an excellent book for 6-10 year olds. Gus Gordons illustrations are great & the front over is bright & pulls you in. Like all Jackie French books this is great! I think it deserves a 4 & out of 5 because it looks like its meant to be funny but it isnt.Lauren, 10, Canberra
