Holly is home alone, but what is that creaking? That only means one thing, she is not alone.

She always locked the door but she cant remember whether she did or not today after her walk out to the letterbox.. She finds the answer when an old lady walks through her bedroom door Ive come to see the doctor said the lady as she entered the room.  Who is this crazy old lady anyway? This doctor person hasnt lived here for ages.

This Psycho Gran loves riddles, doesnt know where she lives or what her name is, & doesnt want to leave!  Not only is Holly stuck with this Psycho Gran but somebody or two somebodies are trying to get inside.

Holly wishes she never ventured out to the letterbox in the first place until this crazy old lady tells her the answer.   Youll never guess what happens.

I chose to review this book because it looks like a really crazy book because of the colours or the cover (pink & green) & because it has the word psycho in the title & it sounds pretty crazy. Doesnt exactly pull the older reader in but its still fun and great for the slow reader. Funny but keeps you dangling off the end of your chair.

I recommend this to children aged between 6-11.

Suddenly the telephone answering machine whirred as though the power had just been turned on and then of again .The microwave beeped although nothing was cooking the fridge rattled and the volume of the radio grew louder .The computer screen flashed brightly sending words and numbers scrolling down the screen. Hamishs hair stood on end as though it had been blasted with an invisible hairdryer!!! (Page 11, Brain Drain)

Brain Drain written by Christine Harris and illustrated by Gus Gordon is about a boy named Hamish who is unlucky enough to have swapped brains with his computer.  Luckily, it all ends well for him since his sister turns him back to normal.

I think this story is best suited for children aged 7-10 years.  It is an easy read.  The dialogues are well written with some quick witty lines. Id give this book a three out of five because even though the story is exciting the story line drops in some places.

The story is about a boy called Angus. Angus gets a lecture on how you spell was because in the story he  wrote Angus Humpleberry woz ere in the wet cement.

Then they had to move to Mops and Pops house. Angus   and Pops fixed the Motorbike and after some practice he got to ride it by himself he enjoyed that. On Monday Angus and his sister Emily went to their new school. Angus made a new friend and they went home together.

The books very good to read and its a book thats hard to put down. It feels like you are there in the scene.

The characters seem realistic, their personalities are real, and you can even hear them talking.

I think the book is very appropriate for the audience it is set for. The pictures help you see the setting more and see the faces of the people is great. (Even though there werent that many pictures.)   The language is appropriate for the audience and it is very easy to read.

I think it is a read aloud or a read alone book. I think this book is excellent. Im glad that I read the book!!!
