This story is about a girl's courage and love.

There was a baby born and the father was angry because it was born with blue eyes and he thought that none of the family had blue eyes. Teresa his daughter loved his eyes and nicknamed him "Sky Boy". The father hated the baby and was always stomping and grumbling.

In winter, Teresa would row Rosa the cow out to an island to plough the soil so they set off and then the trouble began. The wind had sprung up so Teresa tied Sky Boy to her back with ropes. The wind had turned to a gale and when Rosa heard a clash of thunder and saw a flash of lightning, she got so scared she stood up and made the boat tip to one side. Teresa swam holding an oar.

The father and brothers went out to look for them worried and arguing. Teresa struggled through the water with the baby still tied to her back and finally they touched sand with her toes. She untied him and breathed on him to keep him warm. The father found them and took them home. He was angry about the boat, but happy that they were safe.

Then in the next week, he liked the boy and loved him for the rest of his life.

I think that this book was very good. It had lots of pictures, but it did have some hard words in it. I recommend this book for year 2,s to year4's.I think this book was very good because it shows how important family and love are. It has a good ending. I think this is a read alone book.

I would keep this book for my children to read because it tells people how important family and love are. I am glad that I read it because it told me how much courage people can have and how much care people can have.
