| I think Toad Rage is a fun book with an easy to follow plot. The author is Morris Gleitzman, and it was published by Penguin in 1999. The story is that a toad named Limpy wants to know why humans hate cane toads so much. He goes on a journey that takes him from his home in Queensland to the Sydney Olympic Games.Limpy is a very believable character. You can hear and feel what hes thinking, while at the same time see whats going on in his surroundings. About halfway through the book, you feel really tense about what is going to happen next, and in the end, its just the same as the beginning, except Limpy is the one telling his relatives why humans hate cane toads. This is a book you would read alone, and the age group suitable would be anything over 8. Its a very original book that I wouldnt have thought of in a thousand years. My opinion of this book is that its very good and I recommend that you borrow it from your school library or better still, buy it.Alex, 11 years, Sydney |
| Limpy is a young toad that is very intelligent. He lives by a highway and loses many family members. He goes on a wild adventure to find out if humans do hate cane toads. On his way he makes many friends and makes cane toads loved for a week. I loved reading this book. It is a great book which is very funny. |
