Aunt Effie is an interesting book. It is about Aunt Effie and her twenty-six nieces and nephews. They go exploring in jungles and make boats, with giant trees! They also meet a sea serpent near the equator.

The illustrations in this chapter book, by Dave Elliot, make the story come alive. They also help you to understand the book, because the plot is a bit hard to follow. I thought the pictures were very nice.

The characters had a lot of personality. I liked Daisy because she was very imaginative and she also wrote the glossary!

There was good print-size in the book, and it was easy to read. Some words in the book were made up, but very creative.

I would recommend this book to ten years and older. I’m glad I read this book because I enjoyed it a lot.
