Scholastic (SOLO) 2004
| This is a review of 'Best Friends', written by Sue Walker and illustrated by Janine Dawson. It was first published in 2004 by Scholastic Books. 'Best Friends' is an excellent short chapter book about friendships and how your friends may change over time. This fantastic story is recommended for children aged six to eight, but anyone can read this marvellous book. In the beginning, there are two little school girls, who have been best friends since kindergarten. The girls' names were Amy and Grace, and the two of them shared lunch, secrets, games and even pencil cases! They were very close friends until Amy started playing with a new girl, whose name was Lisa. Grace didn't know what to do. Her face went hot and her stomach did flip-flops. Amy was her best friend. What should Grace do? I strongly recommend this book to anyone, especially young girls. I really enjoyed reading this terrific book. Please read this book as I am sure you will like it very much. Excellently written and illustrated by very experienced people. If you read one short story book this month, make it 'Best Friends'. A 'two thumbs up', 'couldn't put down', 'no story better' book. And always remember that you have great friends. Julia, aged 11, Victoria. |
