series: Banana Splits

Sally Murphy presents a two in one children’s storybook, both about two pesky dogs. Teresa Culkin-Lawrence draws the diminutive illustrations to give you a small idea on what’s happening in those annoying times in your life.

I have only read one of Sally’s humorous series and I still haven’t figured why it’s called “banana split”-it has nothing to do with it in any of the stories! Even though this is a short story for children, both stories had no descriptive language whatsoever. Uncanny endings are weird too, they make you wonder!

Little Dog
Eager little Mira is so hysterical on getting a dog. Her mother will go fuming if she asks again. But she won’t need to ask her mother anymore, she’ll take her own path to a puppy, in fact Mira will rescue one! Subsequently, she will know not to sneak dogs into her bedroom and then she shall empathize what caring for a puppy really is; she’ll know it’s not just love and play, it’s caring too.

My dog ate my homework
‘My dog ate my homework’- The simple saying has been said over and over again; except Jeremy holds no lie, its true!
Miss. B, his teacher, has set out an assignment to be creative with art. Jeremy successfully achieves this task (not as usual) and leaves it on the bench (big mistake!). Unfortunately Jeremy’s dog sadly eats it. Will Miss. B ever forgive him? Will his dog cough it out and save the day? If it does will it be okay? You’ll just have to find out yourself!
