Walking with the Seasons in Kakadu is written by Diane Lucas and is illustrated by Ken Searle.

This picture book explains the changes which occur in each of the six seasons through the eyes of the Gundjeihmi-speaking people of Kakadu.

It gives the reader a very interesting picture of the Kakadu environment and the different things each season brings. In Gunumeleng, the lightning storms bring the rains that end the dry season and the crocodiles lay their eggs. We learn throughout the book about the nature which lives in Kakadu and the changes they go through throughout the year.

The author has included the Gundjeihmi language words throughout the book to help teach us about their culture. I think that the illustrations are really beautiful and make you believe that you are really there in Kakadu and fit in really well with the text.

I think that this book would be suitable for students of all ages, as well as adults.

I really enjoyed reading about the different things that happen throughout the seasons in Kakadu. I learned a lot about what Kakadu must be like.
