Fergus McPhail by David McRobbie is a hilarious new comedy for teenage readers.

When Fergus McPhail moves to Melbourne from Queensland with his family, he is determined to start afresh. But as his big mouth and crazy antics lead him into more and more embarrassing situations throughout the year he has the dilemmas of: starting a new rock band, together with a crush on a girl that everyone wants, and proving himself to his whole school - you have the wacky and zany Fergus McPhail - The Boy. The Legend. This book is a page-turner that keeps you wondering how Fergus will get out of his next predicament.

Fergus McPhail is an enjoyable and light-hearted comedy that any young adult can relate to. I would recommend this book for 12-17 year olds. I would rate this amusing story 9.5/10 for its real flare of optimism and cheer.

The book is about a teenage boy called Fergus who moves from Queensland. It is his every day journal that he writes since his move. It is a comedy suited to teenage readers, age 12 onwards. It appeals to its audience in the way it looks through the eyes of an adolescent, readers can relate to Fergus. The book deals with a good topic because it deals with some of the problems adolescents face when growing up. The storyline of a teenage boy is great. It is amusing how Fergus makes it through the issues he faces. It has the highlights of normal life, ups, downs, and romances, it has it all!

The book is readable with suitable language and text that appeals to the intended age group. The book is very interesting; it has a story line that seems to keep the reader amused. My personal response to the book is that I know what he is talking about, I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to other readers because it is simply a good book. It is not a heavy book to read or understand. It is very funny with a happy-go-lucky feel.
